ABOUT ME
Creativity is intelligence having fun!

Vicki Drury is the embroidery and textile artist behind Drury Lane. After working for 50 years as a Registered Nurse and academic I turned to quilting and machine embroidery as a retirement hobby. I had always sewn but buying my first embroidery machine was, for me, a eureka moment. It opened my mind to the many projects and applications I could use the machine for. Keen to learn more, I undertook a City and Guilds skill stage 3 accredited course in Machine Embroidery.
As a lifelong sewer, I was looking to harness my creativity and challenge my ideas about sewing. Drury Lane became my established label in 2016. I continue to reinvent my craft and push my abilities to the limit as I learn more and expand my skills.

Beautiful Bespoke Handmade Creations
I use a range of methods and mixed media to create bespoke keepsakes. I am inspired by the colours of the Western Australian outbacks - deep oranges, reds, turquoise and sandy yellows. I love colour, pattern and texture and my use of these media has been enriched by my experiences of living in, and travelling to, many wonderful places.
